US Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts Jobs Description

This position is located in the Department of Technology Services (DTS), Cloud Hosting and Networks Office (CHNO), Hosting Services Division (HSD), Case Management Hosting Branch (CMHB). CHNO provides an array of enterprise hosting, cloud computing, and networking services to the judiciary, both for national judiciary systems managed by the Administrative Office (AO) as well as local court-managed systems.

Responsibilities

The incumbent of this position will report directly to the Case Management Hosting Branch (CMHB) Chief. This position is responsible for overseeing Software Asset and Configuration Management (SACM). They are responsible for the coordination of development, engineering and operations for the BMC Remedy application platform, IT Service Management (ITSM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), and automated Discovery systems.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Overseeing ITSM services to include Change Management, Reporting Services, Software Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) processes.
  • Configuring, enhancing, and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Developing custom discovery patterns based on customer driven requirements to enrich BMC Discovery and CMDB data.
  • Working with the Branch Chief, Project Manager, and technical team to manage priorities, assign tasks, and manage workload. Ensuring staff objectives and expectations are clear, completion dates are given, and staff are fully engaged on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensuring team is following best practices and procedures based on product standards from the vendor, industry standards, standard operating procedures, and other documentation.
  • Ensuring users’ experience is positive and consistent for the team’s services.

    • If appointed to a temporary position, management may have the discretion of converting the position to permanent depending upon funding and staffing allocation.

     

    Qualifications

    Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

    Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience must demonstrate ALL areas defined below:

    • Managing an IT Service Management (ITSM) team by working with stakeholders to set priorities, assign tasks, and manage a technical team’s workload.
    • Providing senior level support for Remedy ITSM in large-scale organizations.
